Obituary of Nicholas J. Decoulos

Nicholas J. Decoulos 64, of Peabody, passed away at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 with his loving family at his side. Nick was born in Peabody on March 28, 1954 son of Catherine (Panias) Decoulos and the late John N. Decoulos. Raised in Peabody, he graduated from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School in 1972 and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from Northeastern University. Nick was employed as a respiratory therapist for 35 years at North Shore Hospitals and retired in 2016 from Whidden Memorial Hospital in Everett. For a number of years, he and his family summered at the beach house on the Shores in NJ. Later on in life Nick’s pride and joy were his four grandchildren with whom he enjoyed spending precious time. In his youth he played baseball and football, and later on he took up golfing, going to Las Vegas, and held Patriots seasons tickets for many years. In addition to his mother Catherine of Peabody, he is survived by his 2 children, John Decoulos and his wife Kelly, and Nicole Decoulos-Debiasi all of Peabody, his cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Cody Decoulos, and Connor and Brady Debiasi; a sister and brother-in-law, Stephanie and Richard Black of GA, a niece, Jenna Bullis and her husband Justin and their daughter Finley Bullis, a nephew, Frank DeMauro all of GA; his uncle Charles Panias of Lynn and his aunt Cynthia Panias of Peabody and many cousins and friends. Nick’s family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, April 27th from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, April 28th at 11 a.m. followed by his burial in the family lot at Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
