I am saddened to learn of the passing of Mary Vieira, especially so soon after her son Gary's death in March. My father, James Hintz, served aboard the USS LCS 59 Landing Craft Support ship along with Mary's husband during WWII. Our family met Gary and Mary when we joined dad in attending the 2008 LCS reunion in San Francisco. Over the years since, we had kept in touch by e-mail and Christmas greetings. It was a blessing to have this connection to others associated with LCS 59, especially these two wonderful people. I offer my sincerest condolences to Mary's family and friends in this time of loss.
