Obituary of Mary Rose (Bertoldi) Vieira

Mary Rose (Bertoldi) Vieira, 90, of Peabody, died on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Sunrise at Gardner Park Care facility. She was the wife of the late Edward D. Vieira. Mary was born in Peabody, MA on December 4, 1927, the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Taormina) Bertoldi and had resided in Peabody most of her life. She was a graduate of Peabody High School in 1945 and business school in 1947. Mary was a book keeper at the Verza Leather Co. in Peabody for 43 years retiring in 1988. She had been a member of the Peabody Historical Society, the Luso- American Credit Union and the Holy Ghost Society. She also was a volunteer and treasurer for the National Association for active and retired federal employees Chapter 479 for many years. She and her husband had attended yearly visits to Washington DC for the American War Veterans Council. Mary enjoyed her Wilson Square neighborhood and going to St. Joseph’s Church and events there. She is survived by her grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer D.V. Hoeger and Nicholas of Coralville, Iowa, Elizabeth J. Vieira and Yatesh Singh of Minneapolis, MN and Michael R. Viera and his fiancé, Callie A. Krummel of St. Paul. MN, 2 great grandchildren, James Hoeger and Asha Singh; a brother Robert Bertoldi of FL and a sister, Rose Mahoney of NH, her cousins, Louie Ciman, and Lucille Tighe of Peabody and Eleanor Catalano of Cotiut, MA and many nieces and nephews. She was the devoted mother of the late Richard Vieira and Gary Vieira. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 from 9:30 unit 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody location followed by Services there at 11:00 AM.
