Obituary of Mary Ellen Flynn

Mary Ellen (Callahan) Flynn, 66, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Thursday December 20 at her Home. Born in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late John Callahan and Mary (Vautour) (Callahan) Bailey. She was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn. Mary Ellen was employed with the city of Peabody School Department for over 32 years. She started her career working in the cafeteria and worked her way up to a school data specialist before retiring last year. Mary Ellen loved coaching softball with her four daughters and continued coaching for many years after they were through playing. Her favorite endeavor though was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and sharing in all of their activities. She is survived by her four daughters, Christine Flynn of Peabody, Laurie and her husband Gary Stetson of Beverly, Sheila Flynn of Peabody, and Dawn and her husband Ben Morin of Danvers, her beloved 8 grandchildren, Abriana, Alyssa, and Alicia Tobin, Ashley D’Amato, Matthew Stetson, Nichole and Cameron Morin, and Stephanie Flynn, and is also survived by her two great grandchildren, Isabella Tobin and Mason D’Amato, her niece, Eva Quinlan and by several other nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Jane Kelley. Her Funeral will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 3:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial services will be private.
