Dear Janet,
My prayers and thoughts go out to you and Joe's family. What a horrible thing to go thru. Life is so unfair sometimes.
While your undergoing this ordeal, try to remember to take care of yourself. You'll need your strength. I know it sounds impossible, but you will go on. Just be take it is easy and remember your family and friends are here for you. Also, let them help you during this time.
I'll be keeping a silent vigil for you, should you need to talk, Joyce has my number
Love ya,
Kimba

Janet,

I write this note with a heavy heart. Beyond the shock and sorrow of his premature passing I cannot help but reflect on the good times that we all shared together and the fact that Joe was a kind and generous and steadfast friend of our entire extended family.
His ability to "connect" to those of all ages in a friendly and straight forward way was truly remarkable and he will be sorely missed.

Joe and I had a wonderful friendship during our days in art school. At our lunch reunion in Farmington Me.a month ago we really connected again. It was like we had talked a short time ago instead of 29 years. That is the sign of a true friendship. It is one that I will greatly miss, but I am so so glad that we found each other again.
I will miss you Joe, Love Forever Ron Parlin

Janet.....
Everyone wanted to be friends with Joe. I saw many people seek him out so many times over the years..."Where's Joe?, How is he?". And once you were his friend, it was for ever. And I will tell you why; because Joe had a very special quality, he was a great listner-The Best. When you spoke with Joe he focused only on you. There was no distractions, and he never failed to ask about our families, our health, our children and our parents....he really cared about his friends. And something else, he carried his friends with him always close to his heart and mind. I was always amazed at how he would point out someone at Wildcat or the Red Parka and say he remembered them from 10 years ago, and then get into a 30 minute conversation with him. He had more friends than anyone I have ever met and now I realize that many of the true friends I have (30 years yrs later) were met through Joe. He was the most sincere, honest and caring man I have ever met. I believe we will meet again, we will talk and talk and have a lot to catch up on. I will miss you Joe so much my heart aches. You were always the spirit of true friendship in the mountains and in the flatland. My life was made better just by knowing you. God bless you my friend and God rest your soul.
Steve Childs
Stratham, NH
