Obituary of Marianne E Rantz

Marianne E. Rantz, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Wednesday afternoon at the Lahey Clinic in Peabody. She was the long-time companion of James Mellor. Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Phyllis (Guarino) Rantz. She was raised in Revere and later moved to Peabody where has lived for the past 50+ years. After graduating Ste. Chretienne Academy, Marianne attended Tufts University and received her undergraduate degree. She later continued her education at Boston College and Tufts and earned two Master’s Degrees in teaching and accounting. Marianne shared the same passion for teaching as her mom did and she was employed with the City of Peabody School Department for over 30 years, first as a reading teacher and later as an Accounts Payable supervisor before retiring two years ago. She enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, the United Kingdom, and Europe. Marianne is survived by her companion of 20 years, James Mellor of the United Kingdom, her two special friends, Ania and Gosia Kubel of Peabody and by many aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St DOWNTOWN location to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Lake St, Peabody. Donations in Marianne’s memory can be made to Sisters of Saint Chretienne, 197 Pleasant St, Marlborough, MA 01752.
