Carolyn Terenzoni

Obituary of Carolyn Joy Terenzoni

Carolyn Joy (Lewis) Terenzoni, 79, of Peabody, died peacefully at her home Saturday (5/2/20) following a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s. She was the devoted wife of Peter Philip Terenzoni with whom she shared 63 years of marriage. Destined to be together, they met while playing in the Lynn High School Band. Supporting each other in their various professions and interests gave us all a wonderful model for marriage. Born in Lynn on July 4, 1940, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Everett and Ethel (Eaton) Lewis. Raised and educated in Lynn, she returned to school after her children were grown to receive her BA in Psychology at Gordon College and her MS in Counseling and Psychology at Salem State College. “Joy” worked many years as Director of the Lakeside School. She “retired” by working at the South Branch Peabody Library and by volunteering with the Peabody Historical Society. She was a longtime member of the Second Congregational Church where she loved teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and serving her Lord and others in many ways. She is remembered as a fine Christian woman with a strong faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who touched the lives of many people. Her interest in history sparked her love of traveling with Phil, the “sisters” and her dear friends, Jimmy and Elaine Irving. Grammie’s Campout became the first of many trips with the family. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by her children and their spouses , Deborah (George) Moskevitz, David (Kimberly) Terenzoni, Donald (Antonietta) Terenzoni and Daniel (Jeri) Terenzoni, two sisters, Elizabeth (Fred) Baumann and Susan (Paul) Gustavsen as well as her sisters- in-law Margaret (Ronald) Lowrie and Adele and the late Gordon D’Entremont . She was the cherished grandmother of 13 grandchildren and their spouses Joshua (Alexandra) Terenzoni, David Jacob (Hannah) Terenzoni, Nikita (Glen) McElwee, Nathaniel (Irene) Terenzoni, Andrew (Andrea) Moskevitz, Nicholas (Kayla) Terenzoni, Casia (Stefan) Martens, Michaela Moskevitz, Benjamin (Kate) Terenzoni, Samantha (Michael) Morrison, Keane Terenzoni, Zachary Terenzoni, Dori Terenzoni and her fiancé Mike Soden, and seven great-grandchildren. All her nieces and nephews along with Brian Douglas and Joe Simone, whom she considered as sons, and many friends all completed her family and were everything to her. Her home was always open to anyone who needed a place to stay.
