Nina Capozzi

Obituary of Nina Capozzi

Peabody - Nina (Marianos) Capozzi, 60, of Peabody, died peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family on May 6, 2020, after a heroic battle with Pancreatic Cancer. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of Aristides Marianos and the late Karen (Tsapatsaris) Marianos. She received her education in the Peabody school system and graduated from Peabody High School, class of 1977. Nina worked as a secretary for the Salem Early Childhood Center at the Bentley School for over 20 years. She spent her summers off enjoying all the sunshine she could, whether it was by the ocean, riding her Harley, or riding on the back of her husband’s Harley. She had a passion for dogs, especially pit bulls. She volunteered at an animal shelter for many years helping as many dogs as she could. She always dreamed of owning a large property where she could have her own dog kennel. Nina’s most recent hobby was collecting crystals and other metaphysical items. She was an artist at everything she did. Some would even say she was a perfectionist. Her family was her whole world, especially her three grandchildren. She was strong willed with a big heart. She will be greatly missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She will forever be our “queen.” Nina is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, Nicholas Capozzi; her children, Ashley L. (Capozzi) Jesus and her husband Jeffrey of Peabody, and Kristina M. (Capozzi) Mondeau and her husband Matthew of Peabody; three grandchildren who she loved with all her heart and soul, Sadie, Avery, and Carter; her sister Elana Peters and her husband Joseph of Danvers. She is also survived by many brothers-in law, sisters-in law, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be announced at a later date due to the current health crisis. Arrangements by the Conway Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. In lieu of gifts or flowers, donations to Mass General Hospital Cancer Center in the name of Nina Capozzi may be sent to Massachusetts General Hospital, Development Office, 125 Nashua Street, Suite 540, Boston, MA 02114.
