Obituary of Kathleen P Walsh

Kathleen P. (Needham) Walsh, 71, of Peabody, died peacefully on Sunday, September27, 2020 at the Lahey Clinic Hospital, Burlington with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Robert F. Walsh Sr. Kathy was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 3, 1948 and was raised there before moving to Florida where she met her husband who was serving in the Air Force and were married there. Following his discharge, they moved to Massachusetts and had resided in Salem for 18 years and Peabody for the past 35 years. Kathy had been a librarian with the City of Peabody for 20 years working in the Main St. and South Peabody branch before moving to the West Peabody branch for 10 years prior to her retirement. She had been a member of the City of Peabody Concert Committee since its inception and enjoyed working on the Christmas Concerts, The Spring and Summer concerts bringing her expertise to the committee. She loved going to the Theatre in Broadway, New York and watching the new performances. She loved to travel, taking many trips to Ireland and to DisneyWorld with her family. She had been a soloist for funerals, weddings and other events at St. Pius Church and St, Mary’s Church in Lynn . She had a warm heart and pleasant smile and was always willing to help others and will be deeply missed. She is survived by her children, Robert F. Walsh Jr, and his wife Karen and Ryan Walsh and his wife Katie all of Peabody, Patrick Walsh of Danvers, and Michelle Walsh of Salem, her precious grandchildren, Ashley Silveira, Mary, Kimberly, Katie, Mairead, Brooklyn and Lillian Walsh, her two great grandchildren Derek and Skyla Silveira, a sister Nancy Richard of NC and many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was the mother of the late Joseph Walsh. A Visitation will be held on Friday, October 2, 2020 from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 9:30 AM in St. John the Baptist Church, 16 Church St., Peabody.
