Dad was gifted with a special auditory memory when he was younger. When his six year older sister was learning her catechism for her first communion, Dad was only about three, but he memorized everything also. Dad left us in awe at the number of prayers and songs he could recite from memory. Just about a couple of weeks before he passed, while sitting at the kitchen table, he recited his favorite prayer: Com Deus me deito com Deus me levanto na graca de Deus devinho Espirto Santo cobrime Senhor com o vosso manto se bem coberto for nao terei medo nem pavor nem de coisa que mal for Sao Jose se levantou seu pe direito calcium bordao na mao tomeu seu caminho caminho Nissan Senhora encontrou ponde vas Bartelemeu? vou em carta de vos Senhor torna areas Bartelemeu por o caminho que vieste, nao mora number de parto nem meninho atabafado quarto cantos tem a casa quarto cantos tem a guarda Sao Lucas, Sao Marcos, Sao Mateus Cobrime sempre meu Deus Lucilia
