I first went to work in the AWACS program office in May of 1986, and for the decade I was there I was tutored, mentored, and befriended by this warm-hearted soul who took me under his wing and guided me both professionally and personally. I was blessed to have had this experience, for Gus gave me valuable lessons and friendship that shaped me into becoming a far better professional and person, which I carried throughout my entire career and beyond. I mourn his passing, yes, but I celebrate his life and the blessing I had for having him in mine.
He is with his beloved Marie once again, and for all eternity. Peace be upon them!
