Obituary of Darrin Neal Pechinsky

Darrin Neal Pechinsky, 37, of Peabody, died early Saturday morning November 11, 2006 at the Union Hospital in Lynn as results of injuries sustained in automobile accident early Saturday morning. Born in Lynn, he was the loving son of Frank J. Pechinsky, Jr and Sandra (Hachey) Pechinsky of Peabody. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1986. After high school, he served with the United States Army Reserves for three years. He later attended Salem State College for a year and currently was working for Market Basket in the Deli Department in Danvers. He also was working part time at the AMC Movie Theatres at the Liberty Tree Mall in Danvers. Darrin’s true passion was playing the sport of golf. At age 18, he attempted to get his PGA Tour Card and upon his arrival at the golf course he realized he needed to practice more. Many years later he honed his golfing skills and became a certified golf instructor, who taught golf to his family and friends and by word of mouth, he started developing a loyal clientele. He was very much a competitor and into physical fitness. Besides golf, he enjoyed competing in pool, bowling, scrabble, and chess. He especially enjoyed competing with his late uncle Dennis Donahue in chess, with whom he enjoyed many a game with him, and sometimes, because of distances, mailed moves to one another. Besides his loving parents, Darrin will dearly missed by his brother Frank J. Pechinsky III, and his wife Karen, his sister Jennifer and her husband, Tim Jezowski, his maternal grandmother, Lydia Arsenault of Marblehead, and his paternal grandmother Miriam Pechinsky of Peabody, his niece and nephews, Eric and Ellen Pechinsky and Reece Jezowski, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. His funeral service will be held on Friday at 9:30 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours are on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Oak Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to the NAMI-MASS, 400 West Cummings Park, Woburn, MA 01801, ATTN: Janet Hodges.
