Obituary of Vera (DeSanctis) Iapicca

Vera (DeSanctis) Iapicca, 94, of Saugus and formerly of East Boston, died Thursday evening at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Tancredi Iapicca. She was born in Italy in September 22, 1912 the daughter of the late Frank and Assunta DeSanctis and had resided in East Boston before moving to Saugus 44 years ago. She was a graduate of Burdette College in Boston and during WWII, she served as a secretary at a law office. She enjoyed being for her family. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Albert and Dana Iapicca of Sonoma, California, a daughter and son-in-law, Lorraine and Ernest Felzani of West Peabody, two grandchildren, Adam and his wife Rose Felzani of Boston and Matthew and his wife Marie Felzani of Haverhill, a great grandson, Andrew Felzani of Haverhill. She was the oldest of nine siblings and is survived by a brother Louis DeSanctis of East Boston, Lydia Bevis of Billerica and Rose Cortese of Revere and many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 AM in St. Margaret’s Church, Lincoln St., Saugus. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Saugus. A visitation will be held on Tuesday from 8:30 until 9:30 AM at the Conway,Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St.,(Downtown) Peabody location. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
